Jakob Frenzel Profile

Jakob Frenzel
Jakob Frenzel.

I was born in 1987 in West-Berlin. Since then I have visited many places in Europe and went on four trips through the USA, to New Zealand and Thailand.
2005 I discovered the magnificance of World heritage sites and since then try not to miss any on our journeys. We try to plan trips according to the locactions of WHS site, that way we visited 18 sites in England 2018! And 28 sites on a trp to the Normandy and back.

The German Televison produces short documentaries on each site, called Schätze der Welt, which I record and love to watch with the whole family. I recommend it to every WHS enthusiast.

Monastery of Santa María de La Rábida and the Columbus Memorial Places in Huelva (T)

March 2017 - for our honeymoon we chose Andalucia as a Destination and had 2 weeks time to visit the many beautiful cities and sites. Day 1 we landed in Sevilla, got our rental car and had still time to drive up to Huelva. We stopped in Palos de la Fronterra, a festival was taking place in remembrance of 525 years of Columbus discovering America.

Very nice little town, the church roofs were inhabited by storks probably a few weeks before going back to northern Europe. The atmosphere was even better due to the little festival. The area however is predominantly covered by strawberry and tomatoe glasshouses

Bamberg

March 2010 - actually it is a shame, that I have only spent a few hours in Bamberg so far. Since I am a Brewing Engineer, there is lots to discover in that town.

The world's most known malthouse is standing just next to the train Station, one of the most famous brewing Equipment suppliers is also [...]

Graz

May 2015 - I went on a Business trip to Graz with my colleague. We took the car ride all the way from Berlin at one attempt. We  had 2 nights but had to attend a conference at the Graz University. HoweverI took some hours to wander around the old town. It is attached to a mountain therefore the scenery is perfect.

There are some nice houses, but in the end, i dont have extremely remarkable memories of the city. The Flair however is very different from the rest of Austria. High influences from the Balkan, some Italian. Definitely worth a visit.

Regensburg

March 2010 - on a trainride to Vienna,  we made a few hours stopover in Regensburg. We walked through the charming streets  entered a few churches and got a bite of good sausages. Finally we sat next to the Donau in the historic Spital Brauerei and had a refreshing Helles. All in all, it is a nice town, but other Bavarians towns are as well. Perfect stopover before continuing to Vienna.

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon

June 2012 - this time we visited the North rim. It was already opened to public- We were lucky and could reserve a campground a few weeks earlier online. The north rim is way more remote, hence less tourists and less buildings. The campground is great, we could look over the rim from our tent. On our way from Mesa Verde we passed Monument Valley. A must see on your way through the mid West.

First day we drove to the scenic viewpoints
