Jakob Frenzel Profile

I was born in 1987 in West-Berlin. Since then I have visited many places in Europe and went on four trips through the USA, to New Zealand and Thailand.
2005 I discovered the magnificance of World heritage sites and since then try not to miss any on our journeys. We try to plan trips according to the locactions of WHS sites. That way we visited 18 sites in England 2018! And 28 sites on a trip to the Normandy. More trips like that are planned.
The German Televison produces short documentaries on each site, called Schätze der Welt, which I record and love to watch with the whole family. I recommend it to every WHS enthusiast.

With wide foresight, we visited Maisons La Roche et Jeanneret when we made a trip to Paris in 2008. We only visited it from outside though, and If I remember correctly it was under renovation as well. So not really a tick-off.
In February 2022 we went to Marseille by train. Due to storms in Germany we arrived 2 days late. So had only half a day to see Marseille

October 2021 - I had been several times to Vienna and also got to know the Donau between Vienna and Bratislava, but never managed to visit the Wachau. This time we came by camper and were here right during grape-harvest. So perfect time to have some „Sturms“. In the morning hours we entered Krems and walked around this rather calm, unexciting little town. Across the river in Mautern we visited remains of the Danube Limes but decided to continue on the north bank of the Donau again. Although crowded with tourists we parked in the vineyards of Dürnstein, had some wine and Vesper at a local Heuriger, before we walked through the charming little Austrian village. The cars are directed underneath the town, thus the view at the Donau is wonderful at this place

October 2021 - a short „1800km“ campertrip in fall brought us from Berlin to Wachau and back. We managed to see a few Whs sites of which Telc was one we looked forward to. At the end we only spent a bit more than an hour here. Not much to see apart from the beautiful Renaissance houses along the market, which is a idyllic There are some Souvenir Shops, Restaurants and chinese trash shops. The park at the castle is also worth a visit.
We noticed anyway quite a number of international daytourists from Prague or on their way to Vienna. The parking lot was full of buses.
We found the nearby Slavonice, which we visited next morning more charming and original.

October 2021 - the Bohemian Paradise or the Saxonian Swiss we had visited a few times before and fell in love. It definitely deserves a space on the WHS list. Now we had the chance to visit the nearby Czech paradise as well.
We arrived late in Turnov and [...]

May 2016 - on our way to Tuscany we made a stop for lunchbreak in Pavia. Very nice Italian town with a picturesque core. But the Certosa was a bit off, so we did not take the chance to visit the church. There are so many Italian wonders, understandable that it has left the tentative list, at least for now.
