Tatiana Nikulnikova Profile

I'm adventure cycling traveller. I'm not travelling full time, but I try to do it as much as possible away from the office. Because of the specifics of my travels (mostly by bicycle) I enjoy remote natural sites in sparsely populated areas away from big cities. I try to include UNESCO world heritage sites to my routes if they fit well, but I don't consider myself a UNESCO maniac. If I miss one, I don't get upset. It's just one more reason to come back for a new adventure.

I think that UNESCO sites make up a good frame of every trip. They are the first step to knowledge of the culture and history of particular region. But on the one hand, some of them are really touristic and crowded and some of them are really odd and not impressive at all. Sometimes it's just an empty field, the real value of which can be estimated only by archaeologists or biologists. On the other hand, many sites that deserve more attention of tourists and scientists remain out of UNESCO list. Anyway these sites are very important to preserve our planet for future generations.
