Mt. Kumgang and the Historical Relics in and around the Mountain is part of the Tentative list of Korea (DPR) in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Mt. Kumgang – Diamond Mountain from the Sea stands for a beautiful mountain landscape with different landforms, which is also considered a sacred mountain. The Outer Kumgang and Inner Kumgang Area holds granite peaks, waterfalls, ponds and has attracted artists and pilgrims for generations. The rocks are decorated with Buddhist sculptures to make the mountain more beautiful. Also, the uninterrupted vistas to the nearby coastline are special.
