Ancient Residences in Shanxi and Shaanxi Provinces is part of the Tentative list of China in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Two locations, Dingcun Village and Dingcun Village, boast ancient residences constructed during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. These houses are on a grand scale, in an imposing manner, and puffed up with self-importance, which shows its owners show off their wealth while looking down upon the poor. Dingcun Village has the remains of 40 dwellings. These domiciles are divided into three groups, and are arranged in a compact and symmetrical design.

4 largest and well-protected courtyards among tens were selected as tentative WH sites. Some of them are used as site of movie industry sometimes. They are not too far away from each other. Suggest to pick-up 1~2 to visit ans you may feel repetitive to go through each of them.
