'Biogradska gora' National Park

'Biogradska gora' National Park is part of the Tentative list of Montenegro in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of WHS.

‘Biogradska gora’ National Park is situated on the Bielasica Massif and contains one of the last virgin forests in Europe, which provides a unique example of the evolution of different forest communities, including maple and ash. The park also showcases a variety of geomorphologic phenomena, including river valleys, glacial activity, gravel terraces, and karst forms. Biogradska Gora supports a variety of mammal, reptile, and bird species, and is a significant fungus area, with over 700 species of fungi identified in the park, including several that are endangered.
