Hainan Tropical Rainforest and the Traditional Settlement of Li Ethnic Group is part of the Tentative list of China in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Hainan Tropical Rainforest and the Traditional Settlement of Li Ethnic Group are centered on Wuzhishan, a mountain covered with subtropical evergreen forests and monsoon rain forests. The forests are home to animal species such as the critically endangered Hainan Gibbon. The local Li people has built cave dwellings since prehistoric times and still lives in traditional villages.
