Cueva de las Manos, Pinturas river basin
Cueva de las Manos and associated sites of the Pinturas river basin is part of the Tentative list of Argentina in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of Cueva de las Manos WHS.
Along the Pinturas river basin a number of archaeological sites have been discovered. Most are caves and rock shelters showing presence of early human occupation including burial sites and rock art. They also show various prints of hands and sometimes feet in red, yellow, black and white.
