Canyon du Rio Peruaçu
Canyon du Rio Peruaçu, Minas Gerais is part of the Tentative list of Brazil in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Canyon of Rio Peruaçu contains archaeological sites and caves with rock art in a karst landscape. The area has been inhabited by people for over 12,000 years. The rock art is diverse, was created in various styles over different periods – also in interaction with each other. The paintings include geometric and anthropomorfic figures.
