Les systèmes oasiens des gorges du Rhoufi et d'Oued Labiod is part of the Tentative list of Algeria in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Aurès is a mountain range of varied natural habitats with cedar and palm coexisting. It is historically inhabited by the Berber Chaoui ethnic group – a long closed world maintaining its own traditions. The terrain consists of man-made terraces and villages adapted to their mountainous setting.
