Khooni Bhandara, Burhanpur is part of the Tentative list of India in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Khooni Bhandara is an underground water management system built by the Mughals in the early 17th century. The strategic city of Burhanpur lacked an adequate water supply for its inhabitants and passing troops and caravans, so a system comprising of eight waterworks was developed based on the Persian system of qanats.
