Meru Conservation Area

Meru Conservation Area is part of the Tentative list of Kenya in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Meru Conservation Area comprises a pristine wilderness area with vast numbers of wildlife. It lies within the Somali-Masai biome and is covered by four adjacent national parks / reserves. They are important for the protection of mammals such as Black rhinos, Grevy’s zebra and elephants. The Tana River and Adamson's Falls are of scenic beauty.
