Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site is part of the Tentative list of Kenya in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site has rich archaeological and paleontological evidence from the middle Pleistocene. It is known for its large collection of hand axes. Fossil hominid remains and bone fragments of extinct animals have also been found. Olorgesailie was located close to a large shallow lake that attracted wild animals.
