El Gigante Rockshelter
El Gigante Rockshelter is part of the Tentative list of Honduras in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
El Gigante Rockshelter comprises a former seasonal settlement and place of ritual for hunter-gatherer communities. It was occupied from around 11,000 years ago. It shows the use of wild plants, domesticated plants, and animal remains.
