Kirkuk Citadel is part of the Tentative list of Iraq in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Kirkuk Citadel is the historic core of the city, including the Great Mosque, Al-Qaysariyah Market and the Chaldean Church. It dates from before the Islamic conquest of Iraq in the 7th century. The citadel with four main entrances stands on an artificial mound.
