Pondaung

Pondaung is part of the Tentative list of Myanmar in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Pondaung is a palaeontological site best known for having the oldest fossils of anthropoid primates (ancestors of monkeys, apes and humans). The in situ fossil beds are 40 million years old. Also other fauna and flora fossils have been preserved.
