El Arco del Tiempo del Río La Venta is part of the Tentative list of Mexico in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
El Arco del Tiempo del Río La Venta is a karstic complex including an 84 km long canyon, high cliffs and caves. It has remarkable hydrological and tectonic features such as depressions, fissures, sinkholes, abysses and subterranean waters. The climatic conditions of the caves have allowed the preservation of archaeological sites and rock art, evidence of pre-Hispanic occupation of the area.
