Les forets sèches de l'Andrefana is part of the Tentative list of Madagascar in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of Tsingy de Bemaraha WHS.
Les forets sèches de l'Andrefana is a group of seven protected areas located in the western and southern parts of the island. The selected sites are representative of two ecoregions characterised by an extraordinary biological diversity with a remarkable number of families, genera and locally endemic species. These include plants unique in the world, six species of baobab, half of the lemur species, two endemic carnivores, and a variety of unique birds, reptiles and invertebrates.
