La forêt et les campements résidentiels de référence pygmée is part of the Tentative list of Central African Republic in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Mongoumba Forest and the pygmy forest and residential camps show the knowledge and skill of the Aka Pygmies of the Central African Republic. They built temporary camps for use during hunting and fixed camps in the middle of the forest. The latter, of which 18 have been selected, have 30 to 90 inhabitants on average.
