Site archéologique de Tegdaoust is part of the Tentative list of Mauritania in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The archaeological site of Tegdaoust is a tell that is linked to the trade and metallurgical industry of gold, iron and copper. It was inhabited between the 8th and 13th centuries. Mud-brick and stone structures have been excavated. Tegdaoust was strategically located between the Maghreb and the Sub-Saharan countries.
