Sacred Mount Hermon

Sacred Mount Hermon and its associated cultural monuments is part of the Tentative list of Lebanon in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Sacred Mount Hermon comprises a cultural landscape and a number of Roman archaeological sites. Qasr Antar was its highest temple. The mountain is named 15 times in the Bible. Current Christian, Muslim and Druze religious communities in the area still consider this mountain as sacred.
