Fortress of Muxima

Fortress of Muxima is part of the Tentative list of Angola in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Fortress of Muxima is a late 16th century Portuguese fortress. It served as a warehouse for goods and a prison for slaves. During the Dutch invasion of Angola in 1641, it became a center of resistance and the population took refuge in the fortress.
