Fortress of S.Francisco do Penedo

Fortress of S.Francisco do Penedo is part of the Tentative list of Angola in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Fortress of Sao Francisco do Penedo is a late 18th century Portuguese fortress. It protected the harbour of Luanda. It was an instrument in the slave trade, but also served as a prison of the Portuguese political police.
