The Painted Murals of San Bartolo is part of the Tentative list of Guatemala in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Painted Murals of San Bartolo comprise early Mayan polychrome murals and hieroglyphic texts. Most are found in the archaeological site’s Pyramid of the Paintings. They depict mythological scenes relating to the Maize God and the creation of the world.
