Nyika National Park is part of the Tentative list of Malawi in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Nyika National Park comprises a savannah area that is an important Afro-muntane centre of plant biodiversity. Lake Kaulime, located in the park, was a spiritual sanctuary. Stone artifacts and remains of iron smelting also have been found.
