Ensemble of the Astrakhan Kremlin is part of the Tentative list of Russia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of WHS.

The Astrakhan Kremlin is a stone fortress from the 17th-18th centuries. It was an inapproachable stronghold in the south-eastern border of Russia and related to a series of historical events. Inside its walls lies the Assumption Cathedral and other religious and administrative buildings.
