Ancient Ariyakara Viharaya in the Rajagala Archaeological Reserve is part of the Tentative list of Sri Lanka in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Ancient Ariyakara Viharaya comprises the remains of an early Buddhist monastic complex. The site, located on a mountain and approached by stairways, holds nearly 100 ancient stupas and caves that were inhabited by monks. It dates from the 2nd century.
