F.A.Q. about the Maps
The maps look different (worse!) - what happened
In March 2025, Google Maps raised their prices for the maps we were using. This meant that we cannot longer use them for free. We have temporarily replaced them with a basic implementation of OpenStreetMaps, while we are working on a more elaborate futureproof solution.
What will the future map solution look like?
We will be using the Leaflet library for OpenStreetMaps for display, but will also add new features such as showing the full core zone of a WHS on the map and Points of Interest (such as the Plaque location). A first version of Prague looks like this:

I don't see any maps at all
They should be all there. Try deleting your image cache. Also, check a different browser or device, it may be your security settings.
Why does it take so long?
If you've spent any time on this website, you will have become aware that it is all based on community effort and volunteerism. The people who work on it do so in their spare time. If you have any particular skills in this respect and want to lend a hand, please contact me.
