The Defensive Complex of Valdivia
The Defensive Complex of Valdivia comprises four fortresses near the Valdivia River. They were built in the 17th century by the Spanish to deter rival European powers. It was also a major supply source for Spanish ships that crossed the Strait of Magellan.
