Perućica
Perućica Strict Nature Reserve (1464 ha), part of the Sutjeska National Park near the border with Montenegro, is one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe. Sometimes referred to as Europe’s last jungle, it is in some parts almost impenetrable and it has never been fully explored. It is home to more than 170 species of trees and bushes, and over 1,000 species of herbaceous plants.
