Mausoleum of "Khoja Mashkhad"
Mausoleum of "Khoja Mashkhad" (also included in the serial nomination “Silk Road Sites in Tajikistan”) is a rare example of a pre-Mongol madrasah from the 9th and 12th Centuries. Two large, domed mausoleum are connected at the middle by a small arch, constructed of mud-brick. In the premise are also mosques and narrow cells believed to be students’ accommodation. It is still nowadays a popular pilgrimage site.
