Les mosquées en terre de la région de Tahoua
The earthen mosques of the Tahoua region were influenced by architectural typologies from abroad, for example from the Arab world. They were designed by the “architect-mason” Elhadj Mamoudou and his apprentice Elhadj Habou. Their Yaama Mosque won the Agha Khan Award for architecture in 1986. It has a domed roof.
