La Tour de Goto Goulfey
The Tower of Goto Goulfey is an earthen construction in cubic shape with a tapered top, built out of clay and protected with “gley”, a sort of slimy earth from the river bed. The tower has a military function and is part of the town walls, and also has a religious function, as it is linked to the Varan cult. The tower’s OUV is linked to it being a masterpiece of the human genius and to its religious ties to the traditions of the Varan cult.
