Itinéraires Augustiniens
The Augustinian itineraries in Algeria are a group of routes and archaeological sites. Saint Augustine studied, travelled and preached here, in Roman North Africa, in the late 4th and early 5th century. The sites include his birthplace Thagaste (modern Souk Ahras), the port of Hippone (modern Annaba) and the ruins of Madauros, the see of a Christian diocese and a centery of study.
