Movile Cave
Movile Cave is part of the Tentative list of Romania in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Movile Cave is renowned for its unique groundwater ecosystem abundant in hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, but low in oxygen. The cave is rich in invertebrates, both terrestrial and aquatic. The only human access to this ecosystem is via this cave; though it is limited to a few researchers per year.
