Fujian Minjiang River Estuary: The ecotone between marine and terrestrial biogeographical regions is part of the Tentative list of China in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Fujian Minjiang River Estuary covers 4 contiguous protected areas of unique wetlands and offshore marine habitats. With its marine biodiversity, it represents the Warm Temperate Northwest Pacific region. It’s also an Important Bird Area with 266 species of birds, including many rare and endangered waterbirds.
