Scenic and historic area of Sacred Mountains and Lakes is part of the Tentative list of China in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
A unique landscape composed of glaciers, lakes, wetlands and grasslands in this region has bred particular and rich religions and cultures. Mount Kangrinboqe (Kailash) and Lake Manasarovar are regarded as Sacred Mountain and Holy Lake by Native Bon of Tibet, ancient Jain, Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism.
