Arochkwu Long Juju Slave Route

.

Arochkwu Long Juju Slave Route (Cave Temple Complex) is part of the Tentative list of Nigeria in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Arochkwu Long Juju Slave Route started at the slave port of Arochkwu. It has an ancient Cave Temple with a shrine to Ibn Ukpabi. It held a much-feared oracle (called Long Juju by the Europeans) that acted as a judge for the Igbo supreme deity and that, as used by Aro middlemen, served as the major recruiter for the slaves sent to the port of Bonny for sale.
