Gulf of Fonseca

Gulf of Fonseca is part of the Tentative list of El Salvador in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The Gulf of Fonseca is a mixed proposal, comprising pre-Hispanic shellmounds and a rich coastal environment. The Gulf is part of the Pacific Ocean. There are many islands, some of which have been inhabited before the arrival of the Spanish.
