Anavilhanas Ecological Station

Anavilhanas Ecological Station is part of the Tentative list of Brazil in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Anavilhanas Ecological Station covers an archipelago of over 400 islands within the Rio Negro riverbed. The location of islands and channels changes overtime due to seasonal changes in water levels, floods and sedimentation. Anavilhanas has already been inscribed as part of the “Central Amazon Conservation Complex” WHS.
