Denisova Cave
The Denisova Cave has produced bones of what came to be known as the Denisova hominin, an extinct (sub)species of archaic human that ranged across Asia during the Lower and Middle Paleolithic. Artifacts dated to around 40,000 BP have also been found. It is the only known and studied site where Denisovans, Neanderthals and people of modern anatomical type were active at one time.
