Cave architecture of Muktinath Valley
The Cave architecture of Muktinath Valley of Mustang comprises some 10,000 man-made caves. Partially mummified human bodies and skeletons that are at least 2,000–3,000 years old have been found in them, as well as medieval Buddhist paintings and artifacts. The caves lie on the steep valley walls near the Kali Gandaki River in the former independent kingdom of (Upper) Mustang.
