Balhaf/Burum Natural Reserve consists of a coastal oasis bordering volcanic lava fields.
It contains an extinct volcano with a crater lake, coastal dunes with white sands and palm trees, and the bay of Mukalla, with wetlands populated by migrating birds from India and Africa.
