Togo accepted the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on April 15, 1998. It currently has a cultural heritage focus, with Koutammakou, the Land of the Batammariba, inscribed as a transboundary cultural landscape showcasing traditional mud tower-house architecture and deep human–environment connections.
Its Tentative List includes both cultural and natural properties, featuring ancient metallurgy sites, historic agglomerations and a national park.
