Palau accepted the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on June 11, 2002. Its sole inscribed site, the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon, is a mixed cultural‑natural property celebrated for limestone islets, marine lakes, coral reefs and endemic biodiversity.
The Tentative List includes other mixed and natural areas such as traditional conservation zones and ancestral village landscapes.
