Mozambique ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 27 November 1982. Its only inscribed property, the Island of Mozambique, is a cultural site recognized for its Portuguese-influenced architecture and historical trading role.
Its tentative list includes both cultural and natural nominations—from medieval Swahili–Zimbabwean archaeological sites to coastal parks and marine reserves.
