Congo (Republic)

3.79 2 3

The Republic of the Congo ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention in 1987.

Its nominations so far comprise only natural sites, such as rainforest national parks within the Congo Basin. Common themes among the sites on the Tentative List include the conservation of tropical biodiversity, the integrity of forest ecosystems, and the recognition of traditional settlements and heritage linked to pre-colonial kingdoms and coastal trading routes.
