I like the concept of World Heritage, and I like to travel, so combining these two is very enjoyable. However, I don't travel outside of Europe that often, so my ultimate goal would be to visit all WH sites in Europe.
My most impressive site: Rome and Grand Canyon
My proposal for a new site: Mount Vesuvius and Phlegreian Fields, Historic University Towns of Oxford and Cambridge, Windsor Castle, Death Valley National Park, Old Town of Hall in Tirol and Schwaz Silver Mines, Historic Centre of Innsbruck and Ambras Castle, Bavarian Royal Castles, Moon Landing Sites: Cape Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center and Houston/Johnson Space Center (Mission Control)

Archaeological Site of Aigai (Inscribed)
Archaeological Site of Aigai
There are few accessible sites associated with Alexander the Great, his father Philip II, and ancient Macedonia in general, but Vergina is one of them and a very interesting one …
Thessalonika (Inscribed)
Thessalonika
Thessaloniki was a pleasant surprise for me. I hadn't thought much about it before, but it's really a very clean and modern metropolis with a nice view of the sea …
Westminster (Inscribed)
Westminster
Westminster is one of those unmissable (and not to be missed) sites that you just stumble across when you come to London and that you can´t escape - you come …
Acropolis (Inscribed)
Acropolis
Athens is an interesting city and much less dirty, crowded, and noisy than most people seem to believe, but its attractions are few and far between (great archaeological museum, though). …
Tower of London (Inscribed)
Tower of London
It's certainly true that the entrance fee for the Tower is out of this planet (same for other London attractions like Buckingham Palace) and the lines are about a kilometer …
Maritime Greenwich (Inscribed)
Maritime Greenwich
Greenwich is a site that truly deserves its listing on the WHS. Apart from being very easy to reach from central London, Greenwich's importance in the fields of science, navigation, …
Schönbrunn (Inscribed)
Schönbrunn
There are plenty of comments on the history and culture of Schönbrunn already, so just a few words on this great attraction: first of all, some people seem to believe …
Canterbury (Inscribed)
Canterbury
Canterbury is one of the most important places in Britain from a historical, religous, and archaeological point of view, and it makes a worthwhile daytrip from London or a convenient …
Rome (Inscribed)
Rome
Rome is in my humble opinion the greatest city on the planet. While I like many others as well, none comes close to Rome in terms of history, culture, architecture, …
Grand Place, Brussels (Inscribed)
Grand Place, Brussels
Probably one of the smallest WH sites, but when you're in Brussels, you will get there anyway, and it is a very impressive place. Not really as big as the …
Brugge (Inscribed)
Brugge
I agree that it´s very hard to determine whether Brugge is Europe´s best-preserved medieval city, but it certainly ranks very near the top. The fact that after the city´s Hanseatic …
Archaeological Site of Delphi (Inscribed)
Archaeological Site of Delphi
Delphi is one of those places whose ancient importance cannot really be seen today anymore, just felt and imagined. It is located in a beautiful mountain setting, on the Parnassus …
Vienna (Inscribed)
Vienna
I´m probably a little biased on this site, since I have been there so many (innumerable, practically) times. The World Heritage area is just the Inner City (the First District), …
Vatican City (Inscribed)
Vatican City
Very few World Heritage Sites can claim to take up an entire country (only this one, really), and the Vatican City is an unusual country, to say the very least. …
City of Luxembourg (Inscribed)
City of Luxembourg
I only saw Luxembourg on a daytrip from Brussels, but it was a very nice experience. On the one hand, Luxembourg is a European capital with lots of banks and …
Wet Tropics of Queensland (Inscribed)
Wet Tropics of Queensland
A collection of national parks and nature reserves in northeastern Queensland, the Wet Tropics area protects the only rainforest in a first-world country. Some parts of the site are easily …
Cesky Krumlov (Inscribed)
Cesky Krumlov
Cesky Krumlov, or Krumau in German, is a gem of a village, but not really a secret anymore. Lots of people have discovered it, and it would be advisable to …
Prague (Inscribed)
Prague
Another vote in favor of Prague from me. It's true, the city can get enormously crowded at any time of the year and day, but this is true for other …
