I have always loved traveling, both for food and to see the culture of different places. I find visiting WH sites adds a little extra depth, as it encourages me to delve into a specific place. I usually like reading (part of) the nomination files as it deepens my understanding of the OUV and also places locations in perspective to others.

As someone with a partner and son with their own opinions, not all our vacations can revolve around world heritage although they have been very accommodating recently allowing me to (hopefully) add 20 visits in 2025.

My most embarrassing missing is probably the Beemster, as it is only 20 kilometers from my home in Amsterdam.

Most of my visits have focused on cultural heritage, however in Plitvice this year my son said he would like to visit more ‘beautiful nature like this’ so I might shift a little in the next few years.
