I visited this world heritage site on March of 2025. Well technically I had already been, but it was so long ago I barely had memories about it and I …

I love to travel and ithat's probably because of my family. I was justr a few months old when I took my first plane to scotland and just two years later I went to Vietnam. I had the luck of having well off grandparents set head on on travelling the world with their family. So I've been travelling ever since I can remember and well before that.
By the time I was 18 I started building upon my already long list of family trips with a set of my own. Starting slow, I've been gaining my footing, especially in regards to solo travel.
I'm a history geek, an all out foodie, and in general curious of many topics. I think that's why I like the WHL so much. I love learning about obscure facts and the list largely satisfies my hunger for knowledge. I also sync with the fundamental idea behind the list: that there are places humanity at large should attempt to protect.
So for the last few years I've been using this web to make my trips, follow the hijinks of the committee, and in general talk about heritage with other people.
My most impressive site: Chola temples, Petra, Taj Mahal
My proposal for a new site: David gareja, armenia. Schwedagon pagoda

Medina Azahara (Inscribed)
Medina Azahara
Well, unfortunately I missed the short window to visit the salon rico, so I won't be adding much new to the fray.
This is a rather polarizing site, with …

Aranjuez (Inscribed)
Aranjuez
Well, after a decade or so I've finally gone back to Aranjuez! here are my thoughts.
First off I think it's interesting noting that aranjuez was proposed fairly late …
Plasencia - Monfragüe - Truji… (On tentative list)
Plasencia - Monfragüe - Trujillo : Paysage méditer
I guess I should do justice to the city my father lives in and write a review for this site, even if i doubt it will ever be inscribed.
…

Itchan Kala (Inscribed)
Itchan Kala
Itchan Kala was perhaps the site in uzbekistan that surprised me the most. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did. This was because of two …

Tarraco (Inscribed)
Tarraco
Tarraco is messy proposal with a lot of parts to it, just like the equally hispano roman city of Merida. Over the course of two days I visited the amphitheatre, …

Bukhara (Inscribed)
Bukhara
Bukhara is the middle child of uzbekistan's whs cities. Less monumental and lively than Samarkand, but more so than khiva. Less cohesive than khiva, but more so than Samarkand.
…

Fatehpur Sikri (Inscribed)
Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri is a rather interesting site as it reflects mughal ambition as if carved in stone and left for us to wonder.
The city was in many ways …

Samarkand (Inscribed)
Samarkand
Samarkand is one of those cities which could easily be in the list a couple of times had they wanted to. And in a way it might have fit the …

Agra Fort (Inscribed)
Agra Fort
I agree with the general sentiment that the red fort and agra Fort are virtually indistinguishable. No doubt helped by the fact that both have significant historical overlap in their …

Graz (Inscribed)
Graz
I agree here with Clyde. Throughout the 10h that I spent in graz I failed to see the sketchy ouv the site presents: "Historic Centre and Schloss Eggenberg reflects artistic …

Humayun's Tomb (Inscribed)
Humayun's Tomb
I'm torn with this review. On one hand humayun's tomb has a privileged place in mughal history as the first of the monumental musoleums that would end with the iconic …

Jantar Mantar (Inscribed)
Jantar Mantar
I agree with the general sentiment that jantar Mantar is a confusing nomination.
Foremost, it's Right in the middle of jaipur old city. So it's hardly justifiable to make …

Mdina (Citta Vecchia) (On tentative list)
Mdina (Citta Vecchia)
I'm gonna go against the current and actually discourage inscription. I know this IS a very popular tentative site and it's indeed a really nice fortified city. My issue is …

Syracuse (Inscribed)
Syracuse
I just realised no one here has actually gone to the neapolis archaelogical park, which is one of the 3 main components of the site so...i'll give my impression.

Mining Historical Heritage (On tentative list)
Mining Historical Heritage
Ok, first things first, this nomination is a disaster, it tries to get 21 mines spread throughout the country (and history) into just one site. It's almost as bad as …

La Lonja de la Seda (Inscribed)
La Lonja de la Seda
La lonja de la seda is a peculiar WHS, especially for Spain, where single monument WHS are a rarity. There is good reason for this. The rest of valencia, though …

Bulwarked Frontier Fortificat… (On tentative list)
Bulwarked Frontier Fortifications
Even though many of the citadels in the list were built in the spanish empire, Spain itself has no citadels in the world heritage list. I guess this fact doesn't …

Modernist Kaunas (Inscribed)
Modernist Kaunas
Due to its impending proposal and my budding interest on modern architecture I added Kaunas to my baltic ittinerary. Now, I want to make clear that I'm not an architect …

The Maritime Heritage of Drag… (On tentative list)
The Maritime Heritage of Dragør Old Town and Harbo
Dragør is a quaint town around 10km south of copenhagen in the island of Amager (which locals pronounce ama). it's actually just a few km away from the airport, so …
