I was born in 1966 in Sungurlu, Turkey and hold a Civil Engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University as well as a Master and Doctorate degree in Construction Project Management from Reading University in the UK. I worked as an academic for 8 years at Istanbul University before establishing my own property investment business, which I am still actively managing. I find it useful to utilize my professional project management skills to plan and execute my travels in a cost and time-effective way which enables me to achieve my target of visiting every country in the world and more. Travelling is my passion and keeping my personal travel statistics is my hobby. As of December 2014, I have visited around 140 UN, 180 UN+, 200 TCC, 520 TBT and 415 WHS. I have also travelled a total of 2750 days and covered a distance of over 1.5 million km, of which 975000 km have been in the air, 360000 km on land and 195000 km at sea. I am also a keen follower of the ever expanding UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which provide a cultural and natural platform as well as another excuse to keep on travelling! I am married with one son and live in Kent, in the UK.
